���Ͽ�, NY’s comprehensive, evangelical Christian university, is thrilled to announce the arrival of its largest incoming first-year class in the last six years. This significant milestone is a testament to Houghton’s unwavering commitment to Christ-centered excellence in the classroom, playing field, residence halls and beyond.

“After 140 years, Houghton’s mission continues to resonate with students and families. Firmly grounded in unchanging Biblical doctrine, Houghton equips men and women as scholar-servants who will transform the world through their leadership, scholarship, and professional service,” said Wayne D. Lewis, president of the University.

Over 35% of this incoming class will attend Houghton with the full cost of their tuition covered, thanks in part to the Founder’s Promise Scholarship. This scholarship, new for incoming students this fall, is the latest in a series of efforts to make a Christ-centered college education affordable for more students, which began in 2020 with a tuition reset that dropped tuition to its lowest level in twenty years. The University is now fully prepared to provide an exceptional educational experience to a diverse group of students who are eager to excel in their chosen professions and make a positive impact on society. These students come from 28 U.S. states and territories, 12 countries around the world and represent over 30 Christian denominations.

Among Houghton’s founding principles was the idea that an excellent education is transformational for both the individual and their communities.  Pursuing rigorous academic studies that meet the needs of our contemporary marketplace, grounded within a supportive, Christ-centered environment remains a core commitment of Houghton today.
