Take your performance to the next level.

At this four-day summer string festival, you will work closely with Houghton鈥檚 world-class faculty to gain a deeper understanding of your instrument and push yourself to grow as a whole musician. Private lessons, masterclasses, and various ensemble group coaching will allow you to experience the true artistry of music-making. Dive deeper with special workshops in Musician’s Wellness and an invitation-only Spotlight Competition鈥攁 great stepping stone to prepare for optimal playing.

Individual and small group instruction from Houghton Faculty and Houghton Music Alum.

Build Your Festival Experience

All students will participate in:

  • Private Lessons for Violin, Viola, Cello, and Piano
  • Chamber Music (Duo, Trio, String Quartet, Quintet)
  • String Orchestra
  • Cello Ensemble (Cello students only)

  • Workshops on Jazz Improvisation & Musicians’ wellness
  • Student Spotlight Competition

Rates & Registration

July 26-30, 2026

For students ages 13-25 year old of Intermediate and Advanced levels

$1000 – Residential Experience

Includes housing and all meals

$950 – Early Bird Registration for Residential Experience only (must enroll prior to April 15, 2026)

Includes lunches and dinners

Registration Details

A $100 non-refundable deposit must accompany each registration. A $30 refundable room key deposit is required upon arrival at the festival.

When you register, use your email as your log-in and then pick a password you will remember. You will need to get back into your UltraCamp account after you register. Follow these聽directions to create an account and register your child for the festival.

Festival Location

黑料科 is located 65 miles southeast of Buffalo and 70 miles southwest of Rochester in Houghton, New York. On all sides of our 1,300-acre campus is the scenic beauty of the rolling hills and northern hardwood forests of Western New York.
